This page explains what data we collect when you visit our site, how we use it, and when it may be shared with others. Using any page on this website means you accept the practices described here.

Data You Give Us Directly

Search Queries

When you enter a name or date of birth into a search tool on this site, that input goes straight to the third-party provider running the search. The provider processes it and returns results. We do not store or log the search terms you enter on our end.

Messages and Contact Submissions

If you send us an email, we keep the message so we can reply. Your message stays inside our team. We will not share it outside our organization unless a legal obligation requires it.

Data We Gather Automatically

Every time a page on this site loads, our servers pick up a few technical details about the visit:

  • The IP address assigned to your device
  • Which browser you are using and its version
  • Your device type and operating system
  • Timestamps for each page view
  • The site that sent you here, if any
  • The pages you visited and how long you stayed on each

Cookies and Analytics

We use cookies, which are small files stored on your device that let us see how visitors use the site, such as which pages draw the most traffic and where people tend to drop off. Analytics services help us combine that traffic data. You can block cookies in your browser settings at any time. Some parts of the site may behave differently if you do.

What We Do With This Data

  • Sending your search requests to the right partner service
  • Keeping the site up, running, and loading quickly
  • Tracking down and fixing technical problems
  • Learning which pages people find useful and which need work
  • Showing ads that may match your interests

No Warrant Data on File

This site does not host, compile, maintain, or sell databases of warrants or personal warrant-record information. We publish general guidance about where Acadia Parish warrant records are held and how to check them through the Acadia Parish Sheriff's Office, the Acadia Parish Clerk of Court, and the issuing city court. Louisiana's Public Records Law, La. R.S. 44:1 et seq., gives the public the right to inspect many of those records, and La. R.S. 44:3 lists the material that stays confidential. We are not a consumer reporting agency under the Fair Credit Reporting Act, and nothing we collect about visitors is assembled into consumer reports or records about third parties.

Third-Party Search Partners

Search boxes on this site are operated by outside companies. Anything you enter into one of those tools is processed under the partner's own privacy policy, not this one. Those partners set their own retention and sharing practices, and we do not control them. Review the partner's policy before you submit a search.

Links to Other Websites

Across the site we link to sheriff's office pages, court portals, legal aid groups, and third-party search tools. Clicking one of those links takes you off our site, and from that point the other site's privacy policy governs your visit. Read it before you share any personal details.

Some advertising partners may track your activity across sites to show targeted ads. That tracking runs on their systems, not ours.

Who Might See Your Data

We do not sell personal data. Some information may reach:

  • Ad networks that place ads on our pages
  • Analytics services we use to track traffic and performance
  • Search partners that handle the queries you run on our site
  • Law enforcement or government bodies when a valid legal order requires it

How We Protect Your Data

We follow standard security practices to protect the data we collect. Nothing connected to the internet is completely safe, though. We take reasonable steps to keep your information secure, and we cannot promise that a breach will never happen.

Users Under 18

This site is intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If you believe a minor has shared data with us, reach out and we will delete it right away.

Your Data Rights

Depending on where you live, Louisiana law may give you added rights over your data. The Louisiana Public Records Law, La. R.S. 44:1 et seq., governs public access to records held by state and parish offices, and La. R.S. 44:3 lists the records that stay confidential. Separate confidentiality rules apply to juvenile matters under La. Children's Code art. 412. At a minimum, you can:

  • Request that we erase your data
  • Ask for a copy of what we hold about you
  • Opt out of certain kinds of data processing
  • Have us correct information that is wrong

Updates to This Policy

We may change this privacy policy down the road. When we do, the updated version goes up on this page with a new effective date. Check back if you want to follow how we handle your information.
